Dona Jean Hawley, age 87, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at her home in St. Helen, MI. She was born on March 15, 1935 in Flint, MI to Frank and Eleanor (Holiday) Miracle. She lived in St. Helen for the past 6 years, formerly of Rose City for many years.
Dona graduated from Flint Central High School and worked at JC Penny in Bay City. She lived in Essexville for many years and raised her family. She eventually moved to Lupton to the family cabin on George Lake. She then moved to Rose City, then on to St. Helen. Dona owned The Gala Rose Bridal Boutique and My Neighbor’s Closet Consignment store in Rose City. She enjoyed having rummage sales and taking road trips.
Dona is survived by her daughters, Tamara (Dennis) Sinicki of Essexville, MI and Laura (Gary) Thomas of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Thomas (Judy) Fenwick, Justin (Angelia Smith) Fenwick, Jeffrey (Rachel) Sinicki, Bryan Sinicki, Jennifer Vandeberghe, and Joshua McDonald; several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and her beloved fur babies, as well as several nieces and nephews and cherished friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Daniel McDonald, second husband Erwin Hawley, daughter Jill McIntosh, son Steven McDonald, and siblings.
A Graveside Service will be held at Esmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale, MI on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to your choice of a pet rescue.
