Dennis Edward Schneider was born, July 7, 1942, in Mt. Clemens, MI. He is the son of the late Ralph and Margaret Schneider. This red-haired little guy was the jewel of the family. As a young man he was often referred to as “Red”.
Dennis was raised in Utica, MI. He attended Trinity Lutheran Elementary School and graduated from Utica High School in 1960. Dennis was a guy who had many friends and enjoyed life. At age 16 he had his own business as a home delivery egg man. He attended Highland Park Junior College and then found his vocation in the automobile industry. Most of his career was in production control.
Dennis was an active member of the Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Helen, MI. He was a true spiritual man. He quietly departed life on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at MyMichigan Medical Center in West Branch, MI at the age of 82.
Dennis is survived by his wife Carolyn, married 47 years in November 2024, and two children, Deborah (Rick) Weeks and Joseph Grinko; sister Bonnie (Gene) Bracken; niece, Amanda (Rob) Panczyk and nephew Brady Locke. He also has several great nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was a devoted husband. He enjoyed spending time dancing and listening to country music with Carolyn and loved hearing her sing. He was a hunter- fisherman and loved to be by the water. Dennis also knew lots of trivia facts, especially those pertaining to history. Debby, his daughter, was always a bright shining star in his life. He was so very proud to be her father.
Funeral service is planned for Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. and then at 11:00 a.m. the service will begin at the Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 635 North M-76, St. Helen, MI 48656. The Reverend Carl Petzold will be officiating the service.
According to Dennis, he was “living the dream” in his home in St. Helen, now his is in his heavenly home with his parents and many friends.
