Delano "Del" N. Lapointe

Delano “Del” N. LaPointe, age 75 of West Branch, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Bortz Health Care in Rose City. Del had lived in West Branch since 2005, formerly of Prescott. He was a member of the Ogemaw County Humane Society and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, attending Bible study every Wednesday at the Rose City Cafe. He enjoyed collecting items, tinkering and recycling. Del is survived by his wife Pat Salvas-LaPointe of West Branch, his son Ford LaPointe of Chicago and his grandchildren Brittani and Phillip. Also surviving are 6 step-daughters and son-in-laws, 14 step grandchildren and spouses and 7 step great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law, Marge LaPointe of Prescott and his nephew, Timothy (Kim) LaPointe of Prescott. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois LaPointe, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Rose City. Pastor Dan Stoneback will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ogemaw County Humane Society.
