Debra Kay Hall, age 57, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 at My Michigan Medical Center in Midland, MI after years of combatting Crohn’s disease.

Debbie was born on July 1, 1964 in Livonia, MI and was adopted by Shirley Kay Melroy. Debbie spent her early years in Grayling, MI and later moved to West Branch, MI where her mother was transferred.

Debbie graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School in January 1982. She was employed at Charbonneau’s Restaurant where she met Van Sheltrown, who became her favorite customer. She also worked at MichCon for a short time before she was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease.

Debbie liked riding on the side-by-side, following NASCAR, and she was a big U of M fan. She also really liked camping in their RV and traveling. Most of all she enjoyed any time she spent with Van, which spanned a total of 37 years.

Debbie is survived by her loving companion, Van Sheltrown; Van’s siblings, Dale Sheltrown, Deonne Goodrow, Joel Sheltrown, Glenda Neumann, and their spouses, plus many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Melroy.

A private service will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch. Burial will be at Edwards Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, 733 Third Avenue Ste. 510, New York, NY 10017 in Debbie’s memory.
