Deborah Kay Rau, age 59, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, MI. She had lived West Branch, MI for the past 46 years, formerly of Bay City. Debbie was born to Karlyn and Evalena (Sly) Adcock on June 3, 1956 in Bay City, MI. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women. Debbie was the secretary at St. Joseph Catholic School for over 24 years. She was the smiling face, as you walked into the school, which greeted children, parents, and visitors. Debbie was a regular at Pinnacle Rehabilitation for water aerobics and an organizer of the American Cancer Relay for Life. She enjoyed stained glass, crafts, canning, providing for her family, and dearly loved her grandchildren.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Robert “Bob” Rau of West Branch, MI; children, Carrie Rau of Indianapolis, IN, Rob (Lacy) Rau of West Branch, MI, and Tony (Yohanna Munoz Toro) Rau of West Branch, MI; grandsons, Parker and Landon; granddaughter Sofia; mother, Evalena Adcock of Spring Hill, FL, formerly Lupton, MI; sister, Carla (Larry) Gaddy of Spring Hill, FL; in laws, Diane (Ron) Bartlett of Sterling, MI, Sue (Randy) Wangler of West Branch, MI, Mark (Vicki) Rau of West Branch, MI; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Karlyn Adcock, brother, Karlyn, and mother and father in law, Robert and Doris Rau.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 3:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life Mass will be Friday, February 19, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Father Patrick Maher will officiate.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the St. Joseph Endowment Fund and the American Cancer Society.
