Dayle Dee Stanek

Dayle Dee Stanek, age 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2025, at his home in Roscommon, MI. He was born on November 23, 1946, in Inkster, MI to Edward and Myrtle (Grannis) Stanek. He lived in Roscommon, previously from Port Austin, MI.

After graduating in 1964 from Cherry Hill High School in Inkster, Dayle attended Eastern University for a short time. Then, he went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970, where he was a proud member of the 754th Radar Squadron. His service earned him recognition through the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.

Dayle will be remembered fondly for his dedicated career as a maintenance and groundskeeper at the Bird Creek Golf Course in Port Austin, where he took great pride in his work. He also repaired small engines and large appliances.

In his free time, Dayle often delighted in solving crossword puzzles, reading books, music and creating numerous poems and short stories. He had a knack for telling jokes, which brought smiles to many faces. Most importantly, Dayle cherished the moments spent with his family.

Dayle leaves behind his daughter, Kathryn (Seth) Kopald, and three grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Betty Fetterolf, Ward (Margaret) Stanek, and Gayle (Ron) Timmons, sister-in-law, Janet Stanek, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who will miss him dearly.

Dayle is preceded in death by his wife Susan, his parents, and brother Don.

He will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the love he shared with everyone around him.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place.
