David William “Pierre” Powers, age 67, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 in Rose City and went home to be the Lord after a 3 year battle of cancer. Pierre was born on March 27, 1952 in Bay City to Thomas and Laura Belle (Ammon) Powers. He retired from Delphi Steering GM Plant #2 in 2006, where he was known as Mountain Man. He was a member of the Brothers of the Wind.
David was an old soul, a kind soul, and a loving soul. He was a man of few words and was a simple man. David lived life to the fullest with no regrets. He was amazed of the beauty of the land that the Lord has made. He loved his family, friends, the outdoors, fishing, camping, deer camp, rendezvous, long drives in the woods, working on his forge, working the garden, loved his black and white western movies and enjoyed cookouts with his family and friends. His greatest achievement was his children and grandchildren.
David is survived by his loving wife, Rhea (Gondeck) Powers, known to David as my love of 25 years; his children, Nikki (Andy) Sprinkle of White Lake; Doug Davidson of Rose City and Rebecca Powers of Rose City; grandchildren, Shaylyn Powers Smith of Bay City, Rylee, Nicholas, and Nathan Greenwood of Rose City and Maddie and Maxx Sprinkle of White Lake; siblings, Thomas (Nellie) Powers of OH, Faith Doud of Bay City, Johnny (Bonnie) Powers of Bay City, and Laurie (Dan) Christ aka “Baby Sister” of Davison; fur baby, Kiyah; and several nieces and nephews and great and great great nieces and nephews.
