David James Hohendorf, age 41, left this world far too soon on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital in Jackson, MI. David was born on February 10, 1983, in Mt. Clemens, MI, to David and Desiree (Bojarski) Hohendorf. He lived in Onsted, MI for the past 5 years, formerly of St. Helen, Trenton, and Dundee, MI.
David lived a life defined by his passion for mechanics, family, and the great outdoors.
Educated with a bachelor’s degree in business management from WyoTech in Pennsylvania, David built a fulfilling career as a diesel mechanic at Stevens Disposal in Petersburg, MI. His dedication to his craft was evident in the meticulous care he applied to every task.
David was a man of many interests; he loved working on cars and had an unwavering enthusiasm for the races at Michigan International Speedway. Whether he was attending concerts with friends or enjoying peaceful moments hunting and fishing, he approached his hobbies with zest and energy that were truly infectious. The joy he found in these pursuits was a testament to his vibrant spirit and love for life.
He is survived by his devoted, loving mother, Desiree Hohendorf; sister, Malinda Hohendorf; his fiancé, Rose Tuttle; his children: Andrew, Corey, Elijah, Madison, Taylor, Zach, and Alex; nephew, Ashton; his beloved dogs Kane and Luna; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, who will forever hold his memory dear to their hearts.
David is preceded in death by his father, David John Hohendorf, who passed away in September 2024, as well as his cherished grandparents, Frank and Eileen Hohendorf, and James and Lorraine Freeland and other beloved family members.
A visitation to honor David will take place on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Homes in West Branch, MI, with a rosary at 4:00 PM.
A private burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in St. Helen, MI.
David will be sorely missed and always remembered, a shining star now watching over his loved ones from above.
