David Dobie Harbowy

David Dobie Harbowy, age 74, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI. He lived in St. Helen, MI since 2004, formerly of St. Clair, MI. David was born on September 5, 1946 in Dearborn, MI to Walter and Irene (Bodney) Harbowy.

David graduated from Western High School in Southwest Detroit in 1966. He worked for General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1996. While working for GM, he worked at the Cadillac Plant and was known as the “Yard Dog”. He enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, WWF wrestling, music and attending concerts.

David is survived by his sons, David Harbowy II of St. Helen and Paul Garibay of Bloomfield, MI; brother, Michael Petrik; sisters, Kathy Richard Ballow and Karen (Ronny) Fischer; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
