Darrell Archer Garlock, a beloved father, grandfather, husband, and friend, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, in West Branch, Michigan. He was born on Saturday, July 18, 1936, in Des Moines, Iowa. Darrell’s life was marked by his kind and fun-loving spirit, which touched the hearts of many.
Darrell worked as an Engineer with General Motors, where he applied his skills and passion for innovation. He graduated from Lawrence Tech University, laying the foundation for a successful career that he dedicated himself to throughout his life. Darrell married Patricia Jean Fairfield on Friday, February 23, 1996. They spend 30 wonderful years together.
In addition to his professional achievements, Darrell had a zest for life that was evident in his hobbies and interests. He loved to ride motorcycles and was a proud member of a motorcycle riders club in Sun City, Arizona. His adventurous spirit led him to travel extensively, exploring the United States in his motorhome with his wife, Patricia, for eight wonderful years. Darrell also enjoyed trips to the casino, where he found joy in the thrill of the game.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Patricia Garlock of West Branch, and his children: Nadine Garlock of Nashville, Keith Garlock of Texas, Janece (Robert) Foster of Clarksville, Missouri, Donald Bartz, Nels Gregersen, and Susan Bruyere. He leaves behind 21 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who will cherish the memories they have with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Madlon (Loomer) Garlock, and his sons, Garry Garlock, Wade Garlock, and Daniel Bartz.

Darrell Archer Garlock will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and love for adventure, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of those he touched.
