Daniel James Sutherland

Daniel James Sutherland, age 65, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, MI. He was born on July 30, 1956 in Pontiac, MI to James and Esther (Sweet) Sutherland.

Dan lived in West Branch since 2003 formerly of Pontiac. He was a great storyteller and enjoyed westerns, mowing the grass, NASCAR, handing out candy to whoever needed it, going to the casino, and sitting in the garage waving and counting cars.

Dan is survived by his daughter, Deanna (Paul) Frechette; son, Riddick Sutherland; mother, Esther Sutherland; grandchildren, Dominic Retsel, Nomi Retsel, Jacob (Sadie) Frechette, Rachel Frechette, and Sierra Retsel; great grandchildren, Braiden, Mackenzie, Aubrey, Ryder, Braxton, Bentley, Maverick, and baby on the way Trenton; brothers, Jim (Diana) Sutherland, Richard (Sue) Sutherland, and Todd (Kim) Sutherland; sister, Sherrie Sutherland; and many great nieces and nephews.

He joins his partner, Shirley Henry.

He is preceded in death by his father, J.C. Sutherland.

Cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time.
