Dale S. Wangler

Dale Stewart Wangler, age 83, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 at the MidMichigan Health Care in West Branch. Dale was a lifelong resident of West Branch, born on September 7, 1937 to Philip W. and Mary (McGillivary) Wangler. After graduation from high school Dale served a tour in the US Army and was a proud veteran. After his brother’s Edwin’s death, Dale returned from the service to take over his milk distribution business. In 1967 he started his over 50-year career at Griffin Beverage Company in West Branch. Dale was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a 3rd degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He belonged to the American Legion post in Standish and was a life member of the Moose Lodge. Dale enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling and was a big Michigan Fan. His work took him many places and he was able to make countless friends along the way. He will be missed for his stories, his smiles, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Although Dale was never married he is survived by his numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great – great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Philip and Mary and siblings, Nedra (Leo) Lehman, Maxine (Warren) Davidson, Phyllis Wangler, Edwin (Monica Tetu) Wangler, William (Shirley Buhlman, Gloria Norris) Wangler, Philip Jr. (Betty Ehinger) Wangler, and Donald Wangler.

Visitation for Dale will begin Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 2-8 PM, and Monday, May 17, 2021 from 2-8 PM at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI. His Funeral Mass will be private, with immediate family in attendance only. He will be buried next to his parents at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. Fr. Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate.

Visitation will be held with precautions, due to the current pandemic, limiting the number of attendees at a given time.

Memorial Contributions are suggested to the St. Joseph Catholic School Endowment Fund.
