Daisy A. Speer

Daisy A. Speer, age 82 of West Branch, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011 in Birch Run. Daisy had lived in West Branch since 2008, formerly of the Rose City area. She was a member of the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church, the VFW Auxiliary and the Red Hats Society. She loved to make quilts and enjoyed bowling. Daisy is survived by her children, Gary (Vicki) Speer of Freeland, Linda Juras of Prudenville, Jessie (Ray) Otto of Holmen, WI and Fred (Darlene) Speer of Birch Run, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Thelma Walker, Lillian Stallings, Maxine Spicer, Ruth Carleton, Joyce McIntyre, Audrey Krentz, and Carl Case. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse, her grandchildren Gary J. Speer and Krystal Lee Speer and her son-in-law, Joseph Juras. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Sunday, August 7, 2011 from 12-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Pastor Bob Mohr will officiate. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday at the Big Creek Township Cemetery in Luzerne. Memorial Contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
