Correan Eva Meir

Correan Eva (Clemens) Meir, age 91 of Rose City, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at her home. Correan was born on November 5, 1925 to Clayton and Minnie Clemens in Logan Twp. She has lived in Rose City since 1951, formerly of Prescott. Correan was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and C.C.W. for many years. She taught religious education classes and was a 4H Leader. Correan made many cakes, cookies, and is known for her peanut brittle, and unique Jelly’s. She loved trading recipes and getting people started with them. She loved her family and handmade quilts for all the grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Correan helped on the farm for many years and was the secretary for the oil company.

Correan is survived by her children, David (Denise) Meir, Clayton (Deb) Meir, Leonard Meir, Tom (Sharon) Meir, Geraldine (Dave) Wakefield, Flora Nicols, 44 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is sister, Darlene (Bill) Winslow and sister-in-law, Jeanine Clemens. She is preceded in death by husband, Clarence Meir, son, Bernard Meir, parents, Clayton and Minnie Clemens, daughter-in-law, Leah Meir, son-in-law, Jim Nicols, great-granddaughter, Madeline Chesters, siblings, Albert Clemens, Lila Dunbar, Evelyn Parish, Lillian Ruhle, Junior Clemens, and Vern Clemens.

Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary being said at 7:00 pm. The Celebration of Life Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 11:00 am with visitation starting at 10:00 am until time of Mass. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Father Patrick Maher will officiate.
