Connie L. (Miller) Smith born October 27, 1942 to Gerald & Ernel Miller passed away August 14, 2007 at her home in Lupton. She married Dick W. Smith on January 16, 1960 and has been a resident of Lupton for 24 years previously of Akron, MI. Connie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, cooking, shopping at Sams Club, watching Jeopardy and Bryant Gumbel, but most of all she loved to entertain guests. Connie is survived by her 8 children Pam (Victor) Freeman of Akron, Mark (Karen) Smith of Lupton, David Smith of Lupton, Charlynn (Donald) Wilson of Rogersville, TN, Dick E. Smith of Lupton, April (Tom) Kangas of Lupton, Carol (Leo) Thayer of Lupton and Tim (Carol) Smith of Lupton. 20 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Mother Ernel Miller of Dickinson, Texas. 4 sisters Barbara Kirkpatrick of Texas, Darlene Bowen of Mayville, Virginia Janks of Lakeport, and Diane Hoppe of Unionville, 2 brothers Bud Miller and Elmer Miller both of Caro. Sister-in-law Judy Smith of Mayville. She is preceded in death by her husband Dick on December 6, 2002, father Gerald Miller, granddaughter Ashley Thayer and 2 great grandchildren Tawni Nevaeh Freeman and Kheagon Nicholas Hampton. Visitation for Connie will be held at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City on Thursday, August 16, 2007 from 1-9PM. The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 17, 2007 at 11:00 AM. The burial will follow at the Lane Heights Cemetery in Lupton. Pastor Matt Smith will officiate. Memorial Contribution can be made to Hospice of Helping Hands or to the family.
