Colleen Irene Davis

Colleen Irene (Rau) Davis, age 95, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at The Villa of West Branch. Colleen was born July 24, 1926 in West Branch, MI to Hugh and Ethel Rau. She lived her entire life in West Branch. Colleen married Owen Ami Davis and they had one son, Ronald Owen Davis. Colleen operated a Beauty Shop in West Branch for 56 years after graduation from St. Joseph High School and then Beauty School.

Colleen is survived by her son, Ron (Marcia) Davis from Lake Havasu City, Arizona; 3 granddaughters, Heather (James Downing) Davis, Holly Davis and Heidi Davis; great grandchildren, Autumn, Chanc, Morgan, Kariann, Kylee, Tim, Olivia and Joey; and 2 great great grandchildren, Bryce and Edyn; her sister-in-law, Roseann Davis; and special friends, Shirlyn Zimmer and James Downing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen, her parents, brother and sister- in- law, Hugh (Buster) and Alice Rau, and great granddaughter, Chelsee Eremia.

Colleen loved and cared for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her great holiday gatherings, never-ending homemade cookies, and having her grandchildren and great grandchildren staying with her for the summers. She also loved her special travel and casino companion, granddaughter Heather Davis who got her on a plane for the first time when she was 85 years old to fly to Arizona. That became a yearly trip for the next 6 years. Heather was devoted to her grandma until the very end.

As per Colleen’s request, cremation has taken place and a “Celebration of her 95 year Life” will be held in the Spring of 2022.
