Clyde K. Whisman Sr.

November 5, 1923 — July 7, 2008

Clyde K. Whisman, Sr. went to join his wife Ruth, Monday, July 7, 2008. He passed away at home with his family by his side. He was born November 5, 1923 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky. Clyde served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He received decorations and citations from the American Theater and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater with 4 Bronze Stars, a Good Conduct Medal, a Purple Heart and a distinguished Uni Badge Victory Medal. Clyde is survived by his sons, Clyde K. (Marsha) Whisman Jr. of Rose City and Gerald D. Whisman of Lupton, 12 grandchildren, Kevin (Jaimie) Whisman,Kim (Jeff) Kummler, Kara (Joe) Neuman, Karla (James) Mattson, Kendra (Mark Beck) Whisman a very special granddaughter, Kristy Whisman, John (Toni) Whisman, Kassi (Mark) Coody, Karissa (Josh) Briggs, Kelly Robinson, Pam (Donny) Knoellinger, and Monte “Dude” (Adrian Dombkowski) Beaudry, and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth on June 23, 2008 and 2 daughters, Sandra K. Stubbs and Debra Sue Risher. Cremation has taken place per Clyde’s wishes. A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Those desiring to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Area 4 Special Olympics, Attn.
