Christian Alexander Wottrich O'Grady

Christian Alexander Wottrich O’Grady, age 51, of West Branch, passed away suddenly at his home on January 17, 2018. He is survived by his parents Mark and Rita O’Grady of West Branch, and his siblings Katja (Michael) Tandarich of Chesterfield Township, Kevin (Laura) O’Grady of West Branch, Ryan (Kendi) O’Grady of West Branch, and Jessica (Daniel) Abston of Dundee. He is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews, Amanda, Alisha, Jace, Colin, Mikey, Makenzi, Sean, Olivia, and James. He is preceded in death by his baby brother Patrick. Chris had many friends but was especially close to the family of Ron Gassman.

For Chris, family and friends came above all else. He especially loved his nieces and nephews, and would give the shirt off his back for anyone who needed it. He was a truck driver by trade but a farmer by heart, and loved to be outside. Chris was born in Germany, but proud to be in
America, with strong opinions about politics, movies and just about everything else. He loved sitting by a bonfire and talking about anything late into the night.

According to Chris’s wishes, his body will be cremated. The family is hosting a casual gathering to celebrate his life on Sunday, January 21, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in West Branch from 1pm-5pm. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the family for memorial expenses.
