Chris E. Pappas

Chris E. Pappas, age 71 of Midland, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 at his son’s home. Chris was born February 25, 1940 to Delores and Edward Pappas in West Branch. He served in the Air Force in the 50’s. Chris’ passion was cooking and baking. He owned Pappy’s Bakery in Detour, MI. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and bird watching. Chris is survived by his son, Edward Pappas of Hope, MI; daughter Kristy (Rick) Carrier of Jackson, MI; Darcee (Jeff) Halstead of Brunswick, OH. Also surviving are grandchildren, Veronica, Christopher, Kyle, Andrew, Sarah, Noah and Joshua plus great-grandchildren, MaKenzey and Savannah and many nieces and nephews. Chris is also survived by his brother George (Lorraine) Pappas of Prudenville, MI, sister Victoria Gaudette of Owosso, sister Frances (William) Nicholas of Detroit, MI, sister-in-law Neoma Pappas of Flint, MI. Chris is preceded in death by mother Delores; father Edward; brother James; and brother-in-law Paul Gaudette. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Brookside Cemetery, West Branch, MI.
