October 8, 1948 — April 30, 2020

Cheryl Lynn Lorencz-Newhouse, age 71, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at her home in St. Helen. She was born on October 8, 1948 in Wyandotte, MI to William and Mary (Oszust) Lorencz. Cheryl married James Newhouse in Northville on November 9, 1979. Cheryl’s love of life, people and animals were her most cherished interests. She enjoyed cooking and baking especially for the holidays. She loved reading of all different types but her favorite and most treasured book was the King James Version Bible. Gardening came next and she was an artist with plants and flowers. Cheryl loved to sing with the birds and knew which bird it was by their song. She loved loving others and craved laughter and good music. Most important to her was her soulmate and best friend, James. Her grandson Jerry Lee and granddaughter Jennifer Marie ‘Marooska’ were most precious to her. Family was her world.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, James Newhouse of St. Helen; daughter, Pamela (Rocky) Farley of Gaastra; sons, James Newhouse and Steven Newhouse both of Gaastra; grandchildren, Jerry (Julia) Farley of Gaastra and Jennifer (Joseph Brozak) Farley of Iron River; great grandchildren, Shane, Matthew, Kailyn, Bryton, Wyatt, Shayleigh, Alexandria, Rocky, Abigail and Lucy; and sisters, Sharon, Annette, Billy and Darla. She is preceded in death by her parents, God parents, Bertha and Andy, sisters, Roxanne and Claudia, and beloved daughter-in-law, Annette Newhouse.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no service is scheduled at this time.
