Charlotte Perdew

Charlotte Perdew, 97, died peacefully on April 20, 2015 in West Branch, MI. She was born to Jacob Z. and Frances J. (Dalrymple) Snyder in St. Louis, MI, on August 22, 1917. Charlotte graduated from Perrinton High School in 1936. She worked at the Union Telephone Company as a switchboard operator from 1936 to 1939.

She married Glenn Perdew on June 14, 1939. They lived in McBride, Reed City and West Branch. They spent their retirement winters in Florida. Charlotte enjoyed reading, sewing, traveling, and fishing in Canada. She was a devoted mother of 5 children and a loving wife. To the delight of her family, she was an excellent cook who excelled at making pies.

Charlotte was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and was a secretary for the Cystic Fibrosis Association in West Branch.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband and grandson. She is survived by her children: Gary (Krystyna) Perdew of Whitehall, MI; Frances (Patrick) Dwyer of Buffalo, MN; Sueann (Doug) Hughey of West Branch, MI; Arlene (Brian) Martin of West Branch; Lori (Jim) Brewer of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Peaceful Acres and Hospice of Helping Hands for their compassionate care. Memorial contributions may be made to West Branch First United Methodist Church or Hospice of Helping Hands.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in West Branch at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery. Pastor Tim Dibble will officiate.
