Charlotte D. Case

Mrs. Charlotte D. Case our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother; Charlotte D. Case, age 102, passed on Monday, November 16, 2020 and went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was reunited with her late Husband, Harold and daughter, Linda McWilliams.
Charlotte was born September 26, 1918 in Bay City, Michigan to the late George H. and Katherine (Joseph) Stoutenburg. She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1936.
Charlotte married Harold V. Case at the Community of Christ Church in Flint, Michigan on March 16, 1940. They were blessed to have enjoyed 49 happy years together. Harold developed cancer and went to be with his Lord, May 5th, 1989. After observing the care he received from Hospice of Helping Hands (West Branch), Charlotte decided to become a hospice volunteer. She completed her volunteer training in 1989 after Harold’s death. She received the honor of volunteer of the year for the years 1994 and 1995 in the state of Michigan, in hospice. She also volunteered for the American Cancer Society as a Reach for Recovery Support person.
Charlotte worked for the National Youth Administration, Michigan National Bank, and Sears Roebuck of Flint. She retired in 1973 and her and Harold moved from Burton, Michigan to Gladwin, Michigan where she lived until 2013, at which time she moved to Thomasville, North Carolina to live with her son, Harold and daughter-in-law, Winnie Case.
Charlotte is survived by her son, Harold V. Case, Jr. and wife, Winnie of Thomasville, NC; son-in-law, Vernon E. McWilliams and wife, Susie of Trenton, FL; grandsons, Rick Case, Justin and Dustin Case (twins) of Thomasville, NC, and Jeffery McWilliams, David and Bradley (deceased) McWilliams (twins) of Florida, and 8 great-grandchildren. Ron and Barbara James and family, Ed and Jackie Curneaz and family, Gary and Linda Case and family, Ted Case, David and Lauri Gates and family, Marsha Kalakay and family, Kathy Nichols and family, Steve Perge and wife.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; daughter, Linda McWilliams; brothers, George A. Stoutenburg and Wallace Stoutenburg; sisters, Catherine Stoutenburg, Sophia VunCannon Dunham, and Treva Purge; three sisters-in-law; and five brothers-in-law.
Charlotte had an extended family: Richard and Marilyn Hamilton and family (former pastor) of Community of Christ (West Branch, Michigan) Church and several of the congregation;
Jan Flanery and the congregation at community of Christ (Kernersville, NC)
There will be a visitation Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at J. C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville, NC. The family will also greet friends Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI. There will be a funeral service will be on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home Chapel in Michigan. There will be a graveside service following the service at 2:00 PM at the Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262 or to the American Cancer Society, 7027 Albert Pick Rd., Greensboro, NC 27409.
