Charles Otmar Johnson

Charles “OJ” Otmar Johnson, age 85, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. OJ has lived in Lupton since 2008, formerly of Shelbyville, MI. He was born to Paul and Gladys (Williams) Johnson on May 14, 1931 in Harvey, IL. OJ was an Eagle Scout and a Mason for all of his life. He was a retired teacher and taught school for 35 years. OJ enjoyed breakfast with the Linger Longers at the New Sunrise Café and spending time at Terry’s Gun Shop.

OJ is survived by his daughters: Cindy Pratt of Lupton, MI, Shari (John) Coyle of Rose City, MI; grandson: Brian (Christy) Pratt of Canton, MI; step grandson, Jim Coyle (Ola) and sister, Mary Ellen DeYoung of Wayland, MI. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 60 years, Doreen Johnson in 2014 and son- in- law, Larry Pratt in 2011.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ogemaw County E.M.T.
