Cecil Calvin Darby

Cecil Calvin Darby, age 90, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at The Villa at West Branch. He had lived in Alger, MI for the past 30 years, formerly of Port Huron, MI. Cecil was born on July 2, 1926 in Port Huron to Henry and Catherine (Blackman) Darby. On November 3, 1973, he married Julia “Dollie” Kota in Port Huron. Cecil was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Prescott, the Moose Lodge in Skidway Lake and American Legion. He was a United States Navy Veteran. Cecil enjoyed dancing, playing cards, being a BINGO caller and spending his winters in Florida.

Cecil is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Dollie Darby of Skidway Lake, MI; daughters, Linda (Harry) Robinson of Kimball, MI, Sandi (Chuck) Witzke of Port Charlotte, FL, and Diane (Dave Pynnonen) Giacobassi of Milwaukee, WI; 10 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Edna, Dorothy, Leona, and Hazel, and brother, Bill.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later time.
