Carol Jean Cox

Carol Jean Cox, age 82, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at her home in St. Helen with her family by her side. She was born on September 21, 1936 in Linden, MI to Charles and Emma (McAllister) McDermand. Carol lived in St. Helen since 1967, formerly of Bay City. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family.

Carol is survived by her children, Victoria Schroeder of Twining, Virginia Molands of Troy, Teresa Parker of Russellville, AL, Roberta Cox of St. Helen, Robert Mead Jr. of St. Helen, Cathy Mead of Russellville, AL and and Sheila (Rob) Englehardt of St. Helen; 27 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren; sister, Jessie Bumgarner of Niles; and sister in law, Flo McDermand. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lewis Cox; son, Steven McDermand; daughter, Elizabeth Mead; grandson, Robert Bartz; brother, Frank McDermand; and sisters, Florence Owczarzak and Virginia McDermand.

The Funeral Service will be at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Betty Kimble will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
