Carlilee Louise Wilber, age 87, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at The Villa at Rose City. She was born on February 8, 1936, in Rose City, MI to Clarence and Roberta (Jansen) Cooley. She lived in Rose City all her life.
Carla graduated high school as the valedictorian. She married Thomas Wilber on January 1, 1955.
She was active in the PTA and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was a member of the WSCA Women’s group and attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Rose City. She was a hospice volunteer for over 15 years.
She worked at Farmers and Merchants State Bank for 18 years and retired in 1991. Carla spent her winters in Englewood, FL where she enjoyed many friends. They spent time playing cards, bingo, line dancing, going to the beach, and going out for lunch. Perhaps her favorite hobby was reading and enjoying the Florida sunshine.
Carla loved to come visit when her family camped. She loved the water and her beer.
Carla was a social butterfly. She loved all social events and going out to dinner with her family on Friday nights and Sunday funday at the Faull Inn.
Carla lived a long and happy life. She was dedicated to her family. She was a 20 year plus cancer survivor and participated in Relay for Life several years.
Carla is survived by her children Mark (Jan) Wilber, Jerry Wilber (Barb Eno), Paul (Ellie) Wilber, Todd (Rebecca) Wilber, and Julie Wilber Beleck (Stephen Kimball); grandchildren Sarah Willard (Dan Keeler), Brett Bilak (Ziggy), Carly (Austin) Parish, Chris (Joanie) Smith, Angela (Dean) Thompson, Pamela (Dave) Pleitner, Amanda (Cory) McCoullough, Eric (Courtney) Wilber, and Ryan (Jenny) Wilber; 20 great grandchildren and one due May 2023; and brothers William and Timothy (Cinda) Cooley.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson Daniel Wilber.
The funeral service will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rose City on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Michelle Forsyth will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose City Cemetery.
