Carl L. Forton

Carl L. Forton, age 86 of St. Helen, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Mr. Forton had lived in St. Helen since 1980, formerly of Mt. Clemens. He retired from Consumers Power in 1978 after 20 years of service. He was a member of Consumers Power Northeastern Lights and he owned and operated C & P Storage in St. Helen from 1980 to 2006. Carl is survived by his wife Patricia of St. Helen, his son, Thomas (Nan) Forton of Galion, OH, stepson David Champine of Mt. Clemens, his granddaughter Kisti (Nathan) Ujvari of Galion, OH and 3 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister, Shirley Klinefelter of Custer and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ed, Tom, George and Leonard Forton and his sister Virginia Cusman. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Barry Brown will officiate. Burial will take place at Clinton Grove Cemetery in Mt. Clemens. Memorial Contributions may be made to the West Branch Dialysis Center.
