Calvin A. Reetz

April 24, 1925 — October 26, 2005

Calvin A. Reetz, age 80, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Cal had lived in West Branch for all of his life. He was a member of the Rose City Lions Club, a past board member of the West Branch Farmers Cooperative and the Ogemaw Soil Conservation, a member of the Ogemaw County Farm Bureau, the Michigan Milk Producers, the Ogemaw County Fair Board and Holy Family Catholic Church and the K of C #8948. Cal is survived by his wife, Joan of West Branch, children, Bruce (Michelle) Reetz and Jeffrey (Carrie) Reetz both of West Branch, Brenda Reetz (Michael Kelly) of Grand Ledge, Debbi (Ronald) Thomas of Rose City, James (Tobi) Reetz of Littleton CO, and David (Mary Kay) Reetz of Mt. Pleasant, 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, his sisters, Thelma Brick of Kalkaska and Laura Walter of West Branch and his brother, Walter Reetz of West Branch. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Josephine (Wangler) Reetz, his sisters, Margaret Zettel, Edwina McDowell and Georgina Winter and his brothers, Christopher Reetz, Dennis Reetz and Warren Reetz. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, October 27, 2005 from 7-9 P.M., Friday from 12-9 P.M. with a Scripture Service at 7:00 PM and a K of C Rosary at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Klacking Creek. Fr. Miro D. Wiese will officate with burial following at Holy Family Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Holy Family Building Fund.
