Byron Lee Hostetler, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He was born to Milton and Nellie Hostetler in Prescott, MI on February 2, 1928. Byron has lived in Prescott for over 30 years, formerly of Northville, MI. In 1951, Byron married JoAnn Moore in Angola, IN. He served in the US Navy during the WWII era. Byron owned and operated Barney’s Unfinished Furniture, where he was a woodworker and cabinet-furniture maker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making birdhouses, cutting wood, and riding his 4 wheeler.
Byron is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, JoAnn Hostetler of Prescott, MI; children: Jim Hostetler of Farmington Hills, MI; Rhonda (Larry) Smith of South Lyon, MI; Scott (Tara) Hostetler of Prescott, MI; grandchildren: Jessica Smith, Lisa Smith, Hailey Hostetler, and Tyler Hostetler. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Esther, Ellen, and Mary.
Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Gordon Long will officiate.
