Bruce Robert Amburgey, age 58, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2014 with his wife and all of his children at his side at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI. Bruce has lived in Roscommon since 1996, formerly of Lansing, MI. He was born on October 22, 1955 to Herman and Elizabeth (Brock) Amburgey in Chicago, IL. He was a member of the Faith Alive Church in West Branch, MI and is a GM Retiree. Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, walking in the woods, and stalking his children’s Facebook pages to see all of the new pictures of his grand kids. He took pride in teaching all of his children these traits. He also enjoyed outdoor recreational vehicles. He is proud of his children and in-laws in the military, and a proud papa. Bruce was the greatest grandpa anyone could have. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Camellia of Roscommon, MI; children: Carie (SFC. Scott) Shiffer of Dover, TN, Sharie (Willie) Murray of Midland, MI, Andrea (Jon) Groulx of Midland, MI, Joanna (TSgt. Claude) Bailey of Grand Forks, ND, Bradley (Lydia) Tomlinson of Muskegon, MI and Kyle Amburgey of Roscommon, MI; 12 grandchildren; sisters: Betty Ann Revitizer, Joann (Bob) Travis; brother: David (Debbie) Amburgey; and twin sister: Alma (Doug) Revitizer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Elizabeth; brother in law: Dennis; and daughter: Carmen Faith. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Chad Deerman will officiate. Memorial Contributions can be made to the family.
