Brian Douglas Benjamin, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 9, 2018 in Rose City, MI. He was born on June 19, 1966 in West Branch, MI to Harris and Verleen (Everitt) Benjamin. Biff has lived in Rose City for the majority of his life, with a short period of time living in Oregon from 2002-2009. He graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School in 1984. Biff went to Central Michigan University for biology and conservation in 1988 and received his Master’s Degree in Fishery Biology in 2000. Afterword, he worked for Huron Pines Research Conservation and Development in Michigan. Later he worked for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife from 2002-2009. The last two years of his life, he was head of maintenance at Bar Lazy J Guest Ranch in Parshall, CO. Biff owned his own business, Ecolutions, which was a private contracting business. He was known locally as a handy man and could fix anything. He enjoyed fly fishing, golfing, carpentry and wilderness adventure with family and their dog, Pepper.
Biff is survived by his sons, Braidon (Kaila Evensen) Benjamin of Rose City, Cameron Benjamin of Rose City and Lake Benjamin of Rose City; mother, Verleen Benjamin of Rose City; sister, Brenda (Rodger) Benjamin of Rose City; brothers, Bob Benjamin of Rose City, Rick (Sheri) Benjamin of Rose City, Jeff (Pam) Benjamin of Traverse City, and Mark (Niko) Benjamin of Rose City; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Harris.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will begin on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Rose Township Hall with a time of sharing starting at 5:00 p.m.
