Bonita Z. Hoffman

Bonita Zay Hoffman, age 78 of St. Helen, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013 at her home. Born to Clare and Erma (Velvett) Allen on April 28, 1935 in Flushing, MI, Bonita graduated from Kearsley High School in 1954. Bonita married Don L. Hoffman in 1956 and preceded her in death in 1998. She worked at Lorne Music Studio as a guitar teacher and she was also a teacher at Herter Music in Bay City. Bonita could also be heard playing on the radio on several occasions. She lived in Genessee, MI for over 20 years before spending her latter years in St. Helen. Bonita is survived by her children; Colleen Harper and Dorene Hoffman both of St. Helen, Brian Hoffman of Georgia; Nine grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and loving companion, Tony Remsing. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at her home, 10210 E. Madison, St. Helen, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ogemaw Nature Park (Game Refuge).
