Bill Joseph Walters, age 83 of West Branch, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Bill was born on November 6, 1937 to Harold and Celie (Kimble) Walters in West Branch. Bill married Joyce Elaine Miller on June 8, 1957 in West Branch. He has lived in West Branch his whole life. Bill was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. He volunteered for many years for Hospice of Helping Hands and was an NRA instructor. He loved spending time with his family and was so proud to own and operate Walters and Sons with his sons. He enjoyed hunting, fishing trips to Canada, playing cards, horseback riding, traveling, skiing, and an avid photographer of nature. After a day with family he would say “This was a good day”.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joyce Walters, daughter, Rebecca Ann “Becky’ Walters (David) Chomas, son, Nicholas “Nick” Joseph (Wendy Rose) Walters, son, Leslie “Les” William (Kathy) Walters, grandchildren, Mary (Chad) Hillman, Helena (Brian) McDonald, Daren (Sarah) Walters, Brian (Erin) Chomas, Tiffany Walters, and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is sister, Maude Kroczaleski and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents and brother-in-law, Ben Kroczaleski.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the Ogemaw County Fairgrounds, 2300 Rifle River Trail, West Branch, MI 48661 with visitation from 1-5 PM and service at 1:30 PM. Pastor Josiah Hill will officiate.
