Beverly Louise (Wangler) Sedlock of Norwalk passed away after a courageous 6-year battle with breast cancer. She inspired many people by not allowing cancer to rule her life. Her motto was: “Don’t give up, Don’t ever give up, Bev Strong!” She lived up to that motto and will be greatly missed. She could strike up a conversation with anybody—a very special and unique soul.
She was born Oct. 30, 1955, the second youngest of seven to Dennis W. and Marie L. Schaefer) Wangler. She graduated in 1973 from Ogemaw Heights High School and retired from Alltel Phone Company in 2015 after 41 years. Her job took her to many places. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Eagles 711 Auxiliary, and VFW 2743 Auxiliary.
Bev married the love of her life, William P. Sedlock, July 25, 1998, at Holy Family Church in West Branch, Michigan, and resided in Norwalk. Since she was so far away from home, she held many families and the Sedlock family as her own. Each family member was very special to her. Together, they traveled to many places. They were avid Michigan fans and enjoyed tailgating at U of M right next to her aunt Theresa “Mama Wangs.” She held season tickets for 45 years. She loved to play cards, board games, and go to the casino. She caught Bill cheating at Euchre the first night they met. She was an avid quilter, making quilts for family and friends and donating many to charity.
Beverly is survived by her husband, William P Sedlock of Norwalk; brothers, Gary (Barb) Wangler and Kenneth Wangler; sisters, Gayle (Ray) Adams and Gloria (Keith Trout) Schmitt, all from West Branch, Michigan; brother-in-law, Thomas Howard; her special exchange student daughter and family in Brazil; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Karen A Howard; brother, Mark C Wangler; brother-in- law, Robert Schmitt; and great-nephew, Kade A Schmitt.
