Beverly Ann Romatz, age 93, born on January 22, 1931, in Detroit, MI, departed this world on Monday, October 7, 2024, in Plymouth, MI, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and delicious baked goods that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Beverly spent many of her years baking delightful creations at Charbonneau's Restaurant and working diligently in the kitchen at Tolfree Hospital both in West Branch. Her passion for baking extended beyond her career; it was a vocation that brought joy not only to those who tasted her treats but also to the community she served. In addition to her work in the kitchen, she devoted countless hours to the Ladies Aid at St. John Lutheran Church in West Branch, where she offered her steadfast support and love. A proud member of the Optimist Club, she was committed to fostering hope and positivity in the lives of others.

Beverly found joy watching television and movies. Her laughter, patience, and love of life will be sorely missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate to cross paths with her.

Beverly’s life was woven with the threads of family. She is survived by her beloved son, Mark (Alan Hyde) Romatz, and her cherished daughters, Lynne Hendzell, Wendy (Andy) Moore, and Laurie (Joel Erickson) Romatz. The warmth of her spirit will live on through her grandchildren: Curtis (Meg) Hendzell, Nicolas (Rachael) Hendzell, Dennis Hendzell, Dominique Moore, Khadejah Moore, Josh Erickson, and Kelsea Houghton. Beverly found immense joy in being a great grandmother to Henry, Noah, Lawrenz, Blayke, Jaren, Cato, and Stella, whose laughter and love enriched her life beyond measure. She held a special place in her heart for her extended family member, Joyce Sosnowski and also a group of special friends from West Branch, with whom she shared many cherished moments.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Larry, who was her partner in love, and by her parents, Francis and Ella (Melcher) Cottrell, as well as her sister, Phyllis Kennedy, and her son-in-law, Bob Hendzell.
