Betty Sue Stevens

Betty Sue Stevens, age 76, passed away on Thursday, December 04, 2014 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Betty had lived in the Alger area since 1990, formerly of Taylor, MI. She was born to Forest and Lillian (Hart) Bailey on September 5, 1938 in Ashland, WV. On September 20, 1956, she married Herbert Stevens in Pikeville, KY and this year they had celebrated 58 years of marriage. Betty loved to bowl and spent time bowling at Ogemaw Lanes for over 20 years. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, going to the casino, fishing, and being out in nature.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, Herbert Lee Stevens of Alger, MI; son, Mitcha Lee (Carolyn) Stevens of St. Helen, MI; grandchildren: Veronica, Jonathon, Gavin, Rebecca, Hannah, and Michael; and siblings: Mary Francis Redmond, Richard Lee Bailey, and James William Bailey. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Charles Edward Bailey, Phyllis June Atwell, Donald Ray Bailey, and Lillian Ann Bailey.

Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Monday, December 8, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery. Pastor Tim LaVere will officiate.
