Betty Mae Lemon

Betty Mae Lemon, age 89, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Medilodge of Sterling in Sterling, MI. She had lived in West Branch, MI since 1996, formerly of Mio, MI. Betty was born on April 27, 1927 to Edward and Bertha (Jewell) Hammond in Mt. Clemens, MI. Betty had a strong Christian faith. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking, baking, and gardening. She always had a jigsaw puzzle set up at her home that she was working on and spent a lot of time doing crossword puzzles.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Gail (Ronald) Quigley of West Branch, MI; sons, Gerald Lemon of Jupiter, FL and Thomas (Jeanne) Lemon of Charlevoix, MI; grandchildren, James, Janice, Jason and Darcy; 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; sisters, Lorna McLachlan of San Marcos, TX and Nancy Phenix of Coldwater, MI; cousins, Donald (Margaret) Reed of Lincoln, MI and Virginia Budreau of Harrisville, MI; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, James O. Lemon; brothers, Eldon E. Hammond and Edward H. Hammond; and sisters, Viva G. Hammond and Gloria Hammond King.

A Graveside Service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in West Branch, MI at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Kiwanis of West Branch – Kids Club.
