Betty Jane Robbins

Betty “Janie” Jane Robbins, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at The Villa at West Branch. She had lived in West Branch, MI since 1970. Janie was born on May 4, 1934 in Sandusky, MI to John and Anna (Prentice) Christensen. She was a member of the Church of Nazarene and was active in church serving on the board. Janie worked as an OR Tech at Tolfree Memorial Hospital and retired in 2000. She enjoyed gardening, reading and dearly loved her grandchildren and family.

Janie is survived by her daughters, Debby (Ed) Jones and Kathy (Martin) Rau both of West Branch, MI; grandchildren, Don DeWalt, Tara Rau, Christopher Rau, Kacey (Tim) Makula, Josh Robbins, Thane Robbins, Kristi (Nick) Newell, and Steven (Tiffany) Robbins; great grandchildren, Madalyn, Ethan, and Jase; daughters in law, Ella Robbins and Joanne (Steve) Vanamburg; and siblings, Beatie Wynett of Lancaster, OH and Larry Christensen of Clifford, MI. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Karl Robbins and Robert Ownbey; sons, Tim and Stacy Robbins; and brothers, Jack Coon and Bill Christensen.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI will begin on Friday, April 14, 2017 starting at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Pastor David Kurtz will officiate. Burial will be at Logan Township Cemetery.
