Betty Jane Richardson

December 1, 1927 — April 3, 2018

Betty Jane Richardson, age 90, went home to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 1, 1927 in Wayne County to Ambrose and Myrtle (Harman) Yoder. Betty had lived in West Branch for the past 2 ½ years, formerly living the summers in Prescott, MI and winters in FL. She was a member of the Judson Baptist Church in Prescott and the Calvary Baptist Church in Englewood, FL. Betty enjoyed gardening, playing the piano and organ, and traveling. She was an artist and enjoyed painting. Betty was a Girl Scout Leader and taught the Pioneer Girls. She loved and cherished spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Kenneth) Van Loon of Alger, Linda (Leslie) Barkman of Alger, and Renea (Mark) Lewis of Rochester Hills; grandchildren, Stephen (Kelly Saunders) Dark, Dale Dark, Richard (Jeanette) Johnson, Robert Dark, Jennifer McCarthy, Diana (Shadi) Farah, Brandon (Krystal) Lewis, Kenneth (Brianne) Lewis, and Colton (Melissa) Lewis; great grandchildren, Derik, Ashlee, Christopher, Celina, Kristen, Heather, Ashley, Lexie, Lucas, Alaina, Logan, Lacie, Emmett, Trevor, and Ethan; brothers, Arden Yoder, Gordon Yoder, and William (Janice) Yoder all of FL; and sister in law, Jean Yoder; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Richardson, second husband, Robert Miller; sister, Doris Pierce; brother, James “Jim” Yoder; and infant brother, Alvin Yoder.

The legacy Betty wanted to leave is to share the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Psalms 121

The Funeral Service will be held at the Judson Baptist Church in Prescott on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Doug Kennedy will officiate. Graveside Service will be on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley, MI at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Orin Van Loon III.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Judson Baptist Building Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.
