Betty Florence Calvin

Betty Florence Calvin, age 93, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, in Rose City, MI. She was born on March 18, 1931, in Taylor, MI to Earl and Beatrice (Upper) Schoenherr. She will be forever remembered for the light she brought into the lives of those around her, illuminating even the darkest days with her kindness and genuine spirit. Betty lived in West Branch since 1965 formerly of Farmington Hills, MI. Betty and her late husband, Ron, moved to Arizona from 1978 -1995, before returning back to West Branch.

Throughout her life, Betty enjoyed several hobbies that reflected her vibrant and playful spirit, including doing puzzles and word searches, playing cards, and finding delight in seemingly simple pleasures such as feeding birds. She relished maintaining a tidy home and exploring different culinary experiences by dining out at various restaurants.

Betty was a treasured mother to her three children: Randy (Sandy) Holko of Tucson, Arizona, Karen Holko of Michigan and Texas, and John (Shelley) Holko of West Branch, Michigan. Her love extended to her beloved grandchildren, Kristen, Jenean, and Jazman, and her great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Lailani, Landon, Loralia, Daxton, Dawson, and Drew, all of whom were a source of immense joy and pride in her life. Betty is also survived by her brother, Al (Pansy) Persondek, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Beatrice (Upper) Schoenherr, as well as her husbands, Ron Holko and Larry Calvin.

Her legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to family will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known her. She leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will be cherished by her family and friends.

Cremation has taken place.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in West Branch on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.  Pastor Carl Petzold will officiate.
