Bernice Marie Lehman

Bernice Marie Lehman, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Porter Hills Village in Grand Rapids, MI, at the age of 92. She was born on December 30, 1932, in West Branch, MI, to Clarence and Laura (DeNio) Brick. Bernice lived a life filled with love, faith, and cherished memories.

As a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch, Bernice contributed her time and talents to various committees, embodying the spirit of service and community. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life.

She had a passion for reading, which not only enriched her own life but often served as an inspiration for her loved ones. She enjoyed baking cookies and desserts, bringing family and friends together in a comforting embrace. Bernice also enjoyed trips to the casino. 

She leaves behind her son, Joseph (Cynthia) Lehman; grandsons, Alex (Fay deBlacum) Lehman and Evan Lehman; her brother, Donald (Georgina) Brick; sister, Nancy Walters; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Bernice is reunited in eternal rest with her parents, her husband, Ernie Lehman, whose love and partnership she cherished; siblings, including her sister, Barbara Fournier; her two stillborn babies, Karen Sue Lehman and Kimmy Lee Lehman; special friend, Renee Orr; and her niece Shirley Rau.

The family would like to thank the staff at Porter Hills Village Health Center for the loving care in her last years. 

A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in West Branch at a later date.

As we remember Bernice Marie Lehman, we celebrate her legacy of love, her unwavering faith, and the countless moments filled with warmth that she graciously shared with us all.
