Bernard L. Wangler

Bernard Leroy Wangler, age 80, of West Branch, passed away suddenly Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at West Branch Regional Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born April 19, 1927 in Flint and lived most of his life in West Branch. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the K of C #2022, the Pioneer Power Club, the Michigan Cattlemen's Association and the National Farmer's Organization. He was founder and president of Wangler and Sons Trucking, Inc. Bernard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie (Brick) Wangler of West Branch, children; Brenda (Bob) Brindley, Randy (Sue) Wangler, Allen (Vicki) Wangler, Greg (Laurie) Wangler, Ann (Scott) Colclasure and Mike (Jeanie) Wangler all of West Branch, grandchildren; Chad (Courtney) Wangler, Preston (Chrissy) Colclasure, Brent (Alex) Wangler, Brian (Holly) Brindley, Chris (Amanda) Brindley, Amber Wangler, Wade Brindley, Winston Colclasure, Greg Wangler Jr., Rachel Wangler, Brittney Colclasure, Renee Wangler and Paige Colclasure, great-grandchildren; Kellen Vonsteenburg, Wyatt Wangler, Kaelyn Colclasure, Boston Brindley, Brooklyn Colclasure, Cayden Wangler, Caleigh Brindley and Greyson Brindley. Also surviving is his brother, Dallas Wangler of West Branch and his sisters, Jackie (Duane) Withey of Flint, Mary Lou (Keith) Buttons of Martin and Helen (George) Snyder of Lupton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Phronia Wangler and a brother in law, Bill Nichols. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 12-9 p.m. There will be a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. and a K of C Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch. Fr. Robert Bissot and Fr. Richard Seifferly will officiate with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Branch. Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Joseph School Endowment Fund or to Heartland Hospice.
