With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Benny Windsor on January 12, 2025. A caring husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.
Born a wild child in Croom, Maryland on January 26, 1960. He entered this world full of piss and vinegar until the day he gave up his 3 year fight with brain cancer.
Benny left a lasting impression on all that he met.
This wild man met his match, Karen, in 1985 at a lake picnic where he annoyed her until she threatened to give him a round house kick to his head, 20 minutes later he asked her out to a movie, and they have been together ever since.
Karen and Benny married in July of 1986 and the good times rolled. During their life adventures together, they had 3 wonderful children, Kristeen Searfoss (Alex), Benjamin Windsor (Lindsey), and Lisa Bragg (Ryan). The family lived in Nanjemoy, Maryland for 12 years, they then moved to Rose City, Michigan in 1998.
He started installing carpet when he was 15 years old, which allowed him some special opportunities as he put carpet on the stairway of Air Force One, in the home of Linda Carter (Wonder Woman!), Sugar Ray Leonard’s mother’s home, and the Kennedy Center.
Benny was a kind and generous soul, always willing to lend a helping hand. His passions were simple yet profound: fishing, playing with his beloved grandkids (Aelyn, Cavin, Milah, Luca, Kenna, and Liam (on the way), and meticulously tending to his lawn- a testament to his dedication and pride.
Preceded in death by a sister in law Cheryl (Norris Windsor), father John George Robert Windsor, mother Catherine Windsor. Benny will forever be remembered for his infectious smile, his unwavering optimism, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness and generosity.
Rest in peace, your memory will be a blessing to us all.
