Barbara L. Alderton

Barbara Alderton, age 66 of Lupton died suddenly on Wednesday at her home. She was born on June 1, 1939 to Sheriff Lawrence and Lena (Waibel) Temple in East Detroit, Michigan. Barbara married Robert Alderton on June 14, 1958 in Rose City. He survives her. Also surviving are her two children; Robert L. (Allison) Alderton of Fremont, and Debra K. Pattullo (Mark) of Mio, 8 grandchildren; Mary (Scott) Seifferlein, Rebecca (Shawn) Pollack, Katherine, Jacob, Marcus and Zachary. Also surviving are two sisters; Donna Gartee and Linda (Gerald) Coffell both of Lupton and a brother, Larry "Butch" (Bonnie) Temple of Lupton. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Sheriff Lawrence and Lena Temple and a sister, Wanda Paulson. Barbara was active in her community where she was a member of St. Andrew Episcopal Church, a Life Member of the Eastern Star Zion Rose Chapter #452; and was the Rose Township clerk for 29 years. She also worked in the medical office field for 30 years as a office manager retiring in 2004 from Bortz Health Care Facility, Rose City. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday from 2:00PM to 5:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home, 611 Bennett St., Rose City. Funeral services will be on Sunday at 1:00PM from the funeral home. Burial will be in Lane Heights Cemetery, Lupton, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Episcopal Church or Rose City Library. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
