Barbara Ann Banfield

Barbara Ann Banfield, age 79, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at her home in St. Helen, MI surrounded by her family. She was born on July 11, 1943 in Detroit, MI to Orville and Rena (Tapling) Patton.

Barbara was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She was kind, generous and thoughtful. She was an excellent baker. Her passion for baking was evident especially during the holiday seasons. She joyfully shared her apple pound cake and Christmas cookies with friends, family, postal workers and Fed Ex drivers.

As a follower of Jesus, everything Barbara did was as if she was performing it for the Lord. She was compassionate and was always there to help the less fortunate. She worked on the food bank distribution, provided transportation for people to their medical appointments, and visited the sick. Barbara was a devoted church member of Lake St. Helen Baptist Church.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Eric Banfield; children, Dawn (Donald) Schoals, Rick (Sally) Banfield, and Sandra (Mark) Chapman; and grandsons, Kristopher Banfield, Allen Banfield, Michael Zuchelski, and Dylan Braamse.

She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at the Lake St. Helen Baptist Church in St. Helen, MI on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Jarib Burnett will officiate.
