Arnold “Arnie” R. Sutphin, age 77, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at his home in St. Helen, MI. He was born on July 23, 1941 in Ypsilanti, MI, but would spend most of his life living around Saginaw, MI. He worked as a general repairman at the Fisher Body Plant in Flint, and then promoted up to team leader at Buick City of Flint until his retirement from General Motors in 1993. He moved from the Saginaw area in February of 1995 to St. Helen, MI. He was a proud member of A.A. having just received his 34 year coin and really hoping to receive his 35 year coin in the year to come. Arnie enjoyed morning coffee with his friends at the Hen House Restaurant in St. Helen. He also enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his family.
Arnie is survived by his wife, Debbie; daughter Dawn Kapp of Saginaw, two daughters in Arizona and one daughter in Fowlervile; grandchildren Richard Sutphin, Michelle (Gilbert) Silva, Emily Burdick, Madison Burdick, and Leanne Sutton: great grandchildren Mia Silva and Valentino Silva.
A memorial service will be held at St. Helen Community Baptist Church on Saturday, September 22, 2018 starting at 11:00 until time of service 12:00 noon. There will be
a luncheon and time for fellowship at the church directly after the conclusion of the funeral service.
