Ardath Ann Church

Mrs. Ardath Ann Church, age 97, of Rose City, Michigan went into Glory on the morning of April 18th, 2019.
She was born July 16th, 1921, in Lawton, Michigan, a daughter of the late Olive V. Pillsbury-Sheldon and Earl B. Sheldon

Ardath was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Roland Church II. They had 6 children; Nancy Balla, Renee Church, Bill Church, Julianne Green, Peggy Johnson, and Josette Oleksik.
Ardath Church was a devoted Christian, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and community servant. She had a beautiful life enriched with 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was very active in her community volunteering throughout the years in the Historical Society, Red Hats of Florida, Lioness Women’s Club of Rose City, member of the United Methodist of Women, a 4-H class leader in cooking, and she also aided in the operations and book-keeping of her husband’s business. She graduated from West Branch High School in 1938 and enjoyed many friendships from there and throughout her community. She also enjoyed gardening and cards; you could always see a twinkle in her eye when the cards came out.
She will be dearly missed by family and numerous friends.

Children: Nancy (Carl) Balla, Peggy (Bill) Johnson and Josette Oleksik. Grandchildren: Mark (Tonya) Balla, Steve (Sherry) Balla, Jill (Steve) Shaw, Lindy (Matthew) Hazel, Kevin (Mia) Church), Christopher (Helen) Church, Lisa (Collin) Ricks, Kellie (Jacob) Miller, Brandon Rosebrugh, Paul Rosebrugh, Heidi (Marie) Galore, Darren (Renee) Rosebrugh, Sara (Rob) Suba, Christopher (Trisha) Green, Nichole (Kevin) Cronin, Zack (Brittany) Kutchin and Ezekiel Kutchin.
Ardath is Preceded in Death by:
Spouse: William Roland Church II, Parents: Earl B. Sheldon Olive V. Pillsbury-Sheldon. Siblings: Robert Sheldon, Marian Matthews, Donna Rakestraw and Betty Freda. Children: Renee Sue Church, William Roland Church III, Julianne Kay Green. Grandchildren: Benjamin William Church and Tessa Marie Kutchin.

Viewing will be Friday, April 26th from 1PM – 9PM and a Funeral Service will be held April 27th at 1PM at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Homes, 611 Bennett St. Rose City, MI 48654. Following the funeral service there will be a graveside ceremony and a luncheon at the Fellowship Hall, Trinity United Methodist Church, 125 W. Main Street, Rose City, MI.
