Anthony James ( Tony) Brent, age 71, passed away on July 16, 2017 at his home in West Branch, MI. Formerly of Royal Oak, MI, he had lived in West Branch for over 17 years. Tony was born on February 3, 1946 in Detroit, MI to Jonathan and Leonora (Neuffer) Brent. He was a United States Navy veteran serving in Vietnam. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Royal Oak, MI in 1964. Tony attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit, was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in West Branch, and a member of the Knights of Columbus as a 3rd Degree Knight. He lived in Seattle, WA for many years before moving to MI and worked in the printing and photography industry. Tony was a freelance photographer and was an artist doing water color paintings. Tony loved his cats and was a Ham Radio operator. He had made many friends over the years all over the world communicating with his ham radio.
Tony is survived by his siblings, Ann (Henry) Ameling of Edinburg, TX, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Brent of Royal Oak, MI, Madeline (William) Nelson of Chicago, IL, Mary Fortuna of Traverse City, MI and Patrick Brent of Clinton Township, MI; 8 nieces and nephews, 6 great nieces and nephews; and aunt, Nelda (Waldron) Neuffer of Seattle, WA. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Mass and Rosary will be held at the Holy Family Catholic Church in West Branch on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
