Angelo Ellis

Angelo Ellis, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at The Villa at West Branch. He had lived in West Branch, MI since 1969, formerly of Allen Park, MI. Angelo was born on May 7, 1926 in Ambridge, PA to William and Ourania (Tsikleas) Ellis. He married Dorothy P. Panoff in Detroit, MI on November 8, 1953. Angelo was a member of the American Legion Post in Prescott and the Lions Club in West Branch. He attended St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Saginaw, MI. He served in the Navy during World War II on the USS French Destroyer Escort. Angelo enjoyed boxing, hunting, and running.

Angelo is survived by his loving wife of almost 64 years, Dorothy Ellis of West Branch, MI; brother, Peter Ellis of CA; sister, Helen Basis of Chicago; nieces, Christina and Rebecca; and nephews, Chris, Rob, and Brian. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jim and George Ellis, and sister, Dina Guerrier.

The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Saginaw, MI at 10:30 a.m. with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. Father Timothy Cook will officiate. Burial will follow with Veteran Honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
