Angeline “Angie” Johnson, nee Black, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016 in St. Helen, MI. She was born to John Joseph Black, of Armagh County, Ireland and Bessie Atwater Black on January 8, 1932 in Johnsonburg, PA. It is there she grew up, met and married Lynton D. Johnson, her surviving and adored spouse of 64 years. She is also survived by their three children, Stephen (Pam) Johnson, David (Susan) Johnson, and Diane (Jim) Ricketts. Her sister, Betty Marion (Carl) Black Jenkins of Sugar Grove, PA also survives. Siblings to predecease Angie are Sara (Jack) Black Baker, James (Doris) Black, Gabriel (Ginny) Black, Rosetta Black Frontman, Joseph Black, Paul (Colleen) Black, Herbert (Pat) Black and Nettie Anne (Raymond) Black Gorczcki.
Angie and Lynton were blessed with six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She loved the Lord and was an avid reader of the bible. She and Lynton were longtime and grateful members of St. Helen Community Baptist Church, where they made many friends. Angie had a real love of animals, especially dogs. Over the years, she was very happy to have cared for her dogs and made many contributions to animal care organizations.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen, MI from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Ken Peterson will officiate.
